Downtown Farmer's Market
September 22, 2012
8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Here is a letter from your Farmer's Market manager for your upcoming Farmer's Market season...hope to see you all there.
Friends of the Farmers' Market,
It took all of our promotional money, but we procured a perfect morning -- sunny, low wind, & not too hot -- for opening day of the new season at the Ukiah Saturday Farmers' Market THIS SATURDAY. So its up to you to spread the word and to bring your family and friends to make it a big success.
As an added bonus you will get to see The Human Race (http://www.mendohumanrace.com/), the 5K walk/run benefit event that will start and return to the market -- with a heap of associated information, music and fun. Hey Human Racers, remember to bring your reusable shopping bags to that you can stock up on fresh local produce, farm fresh eggs, cheese, meats, honey, heaps of plant starts and more after the race.
Since the new growing season is under way we will be open an hour earlier, from 8:30 to noon and we will be off to a relatively big start. Indeed, we should have more opening day vendors than ever before. Which means we need even more support!
Joining our excellent existing line-up of year-round vendors will be several new arrivals such as Boliviers fine chocolates and baked goods, Mellow Farmz, and C&A Organics. I also expect the return of Fish Peddler fresh fish, Barrett Farms bringing family raised, certified organic poultry from Lake County, Sully Farms Mendocino Coastal Seaweed, plus the Potter Valley Garden Club's Annual benefit sale. Joining the crafts under the pavilion you will find prepared foods by Schat's and Midnight Moon, who will be featuring treats like herbal teas and frozen mocha lattes plus foods like Ford Ranch free range beef hot dogs, sausages from the Round Man Smokehouse in Ft. Bragg, and delicious and organic vegan/vegetarian hot dogs (on wheat or gluten free buns). Overall I expect more than 30 vendors.
See you at the market.
