Saturday's Farmer's Market
July 31, 2010
8:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Friends of the Farmers' Market,
Greetings. This week the Saturday Farmers' Market is the perfect place at the perfect time for you to stock up on fresh produce and local meats to make this your best 4th of July picnic and/or BBQ yet. We will have the new all-meat & seafood annex in the parking lot at the Northwest corner of School & Clay. You can expect to find oysters, fresh fish (if you get there early), grass fed beef, lamb, pork, goat. And, as happens only occasionally, we will also have chicken at the Mendocino Organics table.
The local produce is finally starting to come in so the selection is starting to fill in. Pedro Ortiz even brought in the first few tomatoes of
the season last week. Black Dog Farm should be joining us with eggs (which
have been selling out of late), flowers, jam and jelly, some produce and treats like potted purple peas. Mendocino Lavender should be rejoining us and we may (or may not) have another new vendor or two.
We will have some lively country flavored music by brother and sister team Kat and Toby Avery.
In other words, it should be another great market. To celebrate our independent local farms and ranches, help spread the word & bring a few friends.
Its at the corner of Clay and School Streets in historic downtown Ukiah from 8:30 to noon.
See you there.
